From the reviews
I have trained with Jeanna since 2009. She has trained my daughter and son since then when they were 9 and 6. They are now 17 and 14 and have benefited greatly from their training.
I walked into Fight Back Fit on a sweltering Monday afternoon in the summer of 2012 weighing in at 340lbs. Jeanna and Mike have helped change my life over the last four years. I’ve been dropping weight ever since and I’m now walking around at a shade over 250lbs.
The owner, the instructors, the more intimate class size leads to an environment conducive to developing quickly within the discipline and general fitness. It's a place you will be pushed out of your comfort zone, the ambience is that of a typical nascent martial arts gym on the come up.
I recently joined this studio and am extremely pleased with the level of instruction from Jeanna, the warmth and inclusiveness of my fellow students and the small class sizes. Getting more hands-on work with martial arts instructors is key to improvement, and here you definitely get that.
Your first Krav Maga class at Fight Back Fit - Self Defense & Fitness
Nervous about walking into a Krav Maga school for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling a few core techniques with a partner — controlled and at your own pace, not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move in — there's no uniform or special gear you need to buy to get started. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — most schools have everything else you'll need for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call what to bring. Pressure-testing eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid — you won't be sparring hard on day one. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
