From the reviews
I've been a student here for a little over a year. Great classes for adults and children! Everything is focused on being practical for real-life situations. The classes are a wonderful mix of getting fit, learning how to protect yourself, and discovering new things that make you think.
Very effective and helpful in how Master Pak teaches. I have only been going for just over a month, and I am already learning so much that is useful. Great to receive one on one instruction when needed.
Guru Pak has been training my kids for about a year and a half and they have grown so much not only in their self-defense skills but in self-confidence. This is a great safe place for them to gain knowledge and skills that will benefit them throughout their lives.
Guru Pak uses appropriate teaching methods based on age groups, giving more independence to adult students but also giving background context for them to exercise that independence. The adult classes are just challenging enough without overwhelming the student.
Your first Krav Maga class at Filipino Kali Academy-B/CS TX
Nervous about walking into a Krav Maga school for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling a few core techniques with a partner — controlled and at your own pace, not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move in — there's no uniform or special gear you need to buy to get started. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — most schools have everything else you'll need for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call what to bring. Pressure-testing eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid — you won't be sparring hard on day one. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
