From the reviews

Great martial arts gym! The owners treat you like family from the moment you walk in the door! My 6 year old son looks forward to going and I’ve seen positive changes with him. I love that they incorporate good self defense moves into his training! We love all the coaches that are super motivating!

5 stars hands down!! I have never attended an academy like G1 and I’ve been in the ring before and trained at other academies over my 32 years. The kickboxing classes here had me hooked from day 1. Not only did I get into the best shape I’ve been in, I’ve gained tons of knowledge and confidence in myself.

Genuinely caring owners and coaches. Great environment for family to learn self defense, get fit and have fun doing it...most of the time. Some exercises just aren’t fun, I’m looking at you burpees, but I love the results. I also like the different disciplines of martial arts taught at G1.

G1 is a great martial arts academy. I've been been regularly training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for 5 years now. Larry is a fantastic coach, and its been amazing to watch the school grow.

Your first Krav Maga class at G1 Martial Arts

Nervous about walking into a Krav Maga school for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling a few core techniques with a partner — controlled and at your own pace, not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move in — there's no uniform or special gear you need to buy to get started. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — most schools have everything else you'll need for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call what to bring. Pressure-testing eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid — you won't be sparring hard on day one. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.

Krav Maga is a contact activity. Ease in, train at your own pace, listen to your instructors, and if you have any injuries or health concerns, mention them before class and check with a doctor if you're unsure.
