From the reviews
Mr. McPheeters is and has been the best instructor to our children! Everything that he teaches our kids is exactly what he implements in his life as well. He cares about the tradition and honor of this art form of self defense and makes it relatable to our children!!
My son has been seeing Mr. McPheeters for a little over a year now. Love his class. He's great with kids and has somehow taught my likely-ADHD child focus, self-discipline (sometimes he does his bedtime routine without asking! Insanity!) and a plethora of other great lessons that I didn't encounter until my twenties.
Absolutely love this school and Mr. McPheeters. My very hyper and often non-compliant child has nothing but the highest respect for his instructor and classmates. I love watching him get all his energy out before bedtime. The self control and focus he is gaining are PRICELESS too!
My son has been working with Mr. McPheeters for about 1 year now. He is amazing with the kids and has taught my son to be more confident and disciplined. Very glad we found him and would highly recommend his program for effective self defense at any age.
Your first Krav Maga class at Imelda Martial Arts & Krav Maga
Nervous about walking into a Krav Maga school for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling a few core techniques with a partner — controlled and at your own pace, not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move in — there's no uniform or special gear you need to buy to get started. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — most schools have everything else you'll need for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call what to bring. Pressure-testing eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid — you won't be sparring hard on day one. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
