From the reviews

My daughter (age 9) is a student here. The teachers are phenomenal. They guide with patience and structure. Our family moved to the area from the west coast. My daughter was struggling adapting until we started coming to classes here.

There is a DIFFERENCE with INDIANA PIT..... Come See why! Highly trained, certified instructors with excellent lineage to THE PIT system, directed by John Hackleman, UFC Trainer to Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell and many more!

★★★★★ — Carrie, Jul 2012

My son has liked the training he gets. It built up his confidence and has been improving more of his character. The senseis (teachers) have been very helpful and professional. Mr. Terry and Carrie Gruel are very good people. They do more than just teach you self-defense, they make you a better person.

★★★★★ — Peachival, Dec 2021

Terry Gruel and his instructor's are top notch. They are very knowledgeable and use a common sense approach to training. If you haven't trained there, you are missing out.

Your first Krav Maga class at Indiana Martial Arts

Nervous about walking into a Krav Maga school for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling a few core techniques with a partner — controlled and at your own pace, not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move in — there's no uniform or special gear you need to buy to get started. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — most schools have everything else you'll need for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call what to bring. Pressure-testing eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid — you won't be sparring hard on day one. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.

Krav Maga is a contact activity. Ease in, train at your own pace, listen to your instructors, and if you have any injuries or health concerns, mention them before class and check with a doctor if you're unsure.
