Awesome class and instructor. As a beginner the techniques have been challenging but not impossible. Alec has been super helpful with getting the forms down while also teaching how to apply to real world scenarios. Highly recommend for anyone interested in learning how to fight, regardless of skill level.
Amazing class led by a great instructor. Alec is a master of his craft and provides excellent attention to detail!
I’ve been a Krav student for 4 months and absolutely enjoy it! The instructor, Alec Goenner is excellent. Krav is a very practical self defense art. In addition to the confidence it gives, it’s also a great way to improve one’s physical well-being. I highly recommend Krav with instructor Alec Goenner.
Your first Krav Maga class at Israeli Krav Maga
Nervous about walking into a Krav Maga school for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling a few core techniques with a partner — controlled and at your own pace, not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move in — there's no uniform or special gear you need to buy to get started. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — most schools have everything else you'll need for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call what to bring. Pressure-testing eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid — you won't be sparring hard on day one. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
