Amazing program and team at PMA Lake Norman! I was looking for an activity or project that my son and I could do together, and we discovered PMA Lake Norman. We were hooked after the first demo lesson!
We wanted to share how confident we feel having our children attend your classes. It is clear they are learning essential techniques, self-defense, discipline, and kindness. The instructors are highly knowledgeable and, more importantly, have a gift for teaching while keeping the classes fun.
Our boys (ages 8 and 6) have been a part of the program here for a little over a month and love it. They're practicing at home and are always excited to go to class twice a week. The instructors value encouragement and respect while being very patient and kind to all the students.
We did the free trial and my 6yo daughter loved it. We just started classes and she is so excited to learn. We (her parents) are excited that the program includes an at home checklist where our child needs to show honesty, discipline, and respect at the home to earn her various belts as well as passing the classes…
Your first Krav Maga class at Premier Martial Arts Lake Norman
Nervous about walking into a Krav Maga school for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling a few core techniques with a partner — controlled and at your own pace, not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move in — there's no uniform or special gear you need to buy to get started. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — most schools have everything else you'll need for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call what to bring. Pressure-testing eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid — you won't be sparring hard on day one. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
