I'm entering my 9th year as a student at RMA Martial Arts & Fitness in their Krav Maga class. If anyone is looking for comprehensive reality based self defense, look no further.

I love RMA! I've been participating in the KickBox Fit and Krav Maga programs for the past few months and I have learned so much. The classes are well-organized and manage to fit a lot of information into each session while avoiding being overwhelming, even for new students.

My 6 year old is having the best time at this studio. As parents know, it's uncommon to find coaches / instructors who are competent, let alone great, with loony young children, but George and Sylvia are exceptional. Every class is structured, joyful, playful, and productive.

Your first Krav Maga class at RMA Martial Arts & Fitness

Nervous about walking into a Krav Maga school for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling a few core techniques with a partner — controlled and at your own pace, not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move in — there's no uniform or special gear you need to buy to get started. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — most schools have everything else you'll need for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call what to bring. Pressure-testing eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid — you won't be sparring hard on day one. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.

Krav Maga is a contact activity. Ease in, train at your own pace, listen to your instructors, and if you have any injuries or health concerns, mention them before class and check with a doctor if you're unsure.
