Very informative class. I feel safer and more confident in my ability to defend myself should a situation ever arise. I also get an amazing workout and have a blast. The instructors are not only knowledgeable, but also very personable. They are patient and create a relaxed learning environment.
I have really enjoyed this class and have learned so much. The instructors do an excellent job at demonstrating moves and then give personalized attention as you work through them. You get a great workout while learning how to defend yourself and having a great time!
It's a realistic fight technique that can be implemented immediately if need be. I really appreciate the individual attention that I get by having two instructors. Plus it's super relaxed so I don't feel silly if I get wrong.
Your first Krav Maga class at SDS-Krav Maga
Nervous about walking into a Krav Maga school for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling a few core techniques with a partner — controlled and at your own pace, not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move in — there's no uniform or special gear you need to buy to get started. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — most schools have everything else you'll need for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call what to bring. Pressure-testing eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid — you won't be sparring hard on day one. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
