From the reviews

Our two kids have attended this class for almost a year now they are 8 and 10 and have learned so much. Are 8 year old is confident to pin her 10 year old brother who takes it like a champ. The instructor Eric, and his daughter Ella who often assists, are very kind and serious about learning skills.

★★★★★ — Jimmy, Aug 2021

Eric is an excellent teacher of all ages. He makes learning fun, while maintaining the importance that this is self-defense. He is very knowledgeable, with many years of experience. And was very patient helping each of us when we struggled with any moves, working until we had it down.

★★★★★ — Jennifer, Aug 2021

My kids have attended here since it started. They have learned and grown confident in self defense skills and self esteem. Great teacher. Good skills for every child (and adult) to learn.

★★★★★ — Sheila, Aug 2021

Eric is a wonderful teacher who teaches the kids more than just martial arts. He also teaches them about making good choices and becoming good people. My kids have grown so much under his instruction. He maintains a great balance of being serious while making it fun for the kids.

Your first Krav Maga class at Simple Defense Concepts

Nervous about walking into a Krav Maga school for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling a few core techniques with a partner — controlled and at your own pace, not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move in — there's no uniform or special gear you need to buy to get started. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — most schools have everything else you'll need for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call what to bring. Pressure-testing eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid — you won't be sparring hard on day one. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.

Krav Maga is a contact activity. Ease in, train at your own pace, listen to your instructors, and if you have any injuries or health concerns, mention them before class and check with a doctor if you're unsure.
