From the reviews
Both of my kids have been attending Southern Minnesota Martial Arts for three years and have benefited tremendously from the experience. It is a good work out and I know they have gained skills to make them feel more confident.
A great place to train! Check their website for class times and descriptions. They have classes for everyone form beginners to advanced. Bill and his staff are very friendly and highly recommended.
My daughter is 7 and always has a blast in class! We feel very welcome and comfortable from the moment we wall in to the moment we leave. You definitely become part of the family! Thank you for being great role models for my daughter!
Honestly I love coming to class all the time! I’ve been in classes for three years! I love how both young Mr. Hough and Older Mr. Hough run the classes. It’s mostly all serious and sometimes they have a little bit of fun every once in a while.
Your first Krav Maga class at Southern Minnesota Martial Arts
Nervous about walking into a Krav Maga school for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling a few core techniques with a partner — controlled and at your own pace, not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move in — there's no uniform or special gear you need to buy to get started. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — most schools have everything else you'll need for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call what to bring. Pressure-testing eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid — you won't be sparring hard on day one. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
