From the reviews
Raising a girl with no siblings is hard. You can’t trust anyone so we decided our daughter needed to know how to protect herself. Since the first day Harley took Larry’s class she’s loved it….that was 7 years ago.
Larry and his team are the best!!! My son was having some issues with other boys in his grade. The techniques learned has given him the confidence and the ability to get out of bad situations. Larry and his staff are high energy, make the classes fun, but at the same time instill needed discipline in his students.
I attended a women’s defense class and learned so much. Feeling confident and strong after hands-on learning. Great (male) instructors made the women feel comfortable.
Being experienced in martial arts and other types of fitness, I definitely think that this center is by far one of the greatest places to train and work out at. No matter what class I attend, I always have an intense work out where I leave feeling great. This place is also a great community.
Your first Krav Maga class at Texas Krav Maga Katy Self Defense Academy
Nervous about walking into a Krav Maga school for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling a few core techniques with a partner — controlled and at your own pace, not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move in — there's no uniform or special gear you need to buy to get started. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — most schools have everything else you'll need for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call what to bring. Pressure-testing eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid — you won't be sparring hard on day one. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
