From the reviews

My kids and I started taking karate classes at Valley Martial Arts at the end of last year. It started as just something my daughter wanted to try, so I am as surprised as anyone by how much we have fallen in love with the place and people alike. I therefore have lots to say for this review, lol.

Me and my son have been training here for a year. We have both come such a long way in suck a short amount of time. The instructors are amazing and make sure you understand what you’re learning before moving on to the next thing.

★★★★★ — Chandller, Jul 2023

Great martial arts academy. Cody and Courtney are great teachers. They are always willing to take extra time with students to help with skills. They are both great with the kids and make the learning experience fun for them. Valley martial arts also has a great self defense course.

My daughter and I have been students here for over a year. And in that time my once introverted, shy, meek little girl has gained a tremendous amount of confidence in herself. They have become family and look forward to every class!

Your first Krav Maga class at The Valley Martial Arts

Nervous about walking into a Krav Maga school for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling a few core techniques with a partner — controlled and at your own pace, not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move in — there's no uniform or special gear you need to buy to get started. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — most schools have everything else you'll need for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call what to bring. Pressure-testing eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid — you won't be sparring hard on day one. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.

Krav Maga is a contact activity. Ease in, train at your own pace, listen to your instructors, and if you have any injuries or health concerns, mention them before class and check with a doctor if you're unsure.
