From the reviews
My daughter is 7 and has been with CDA for a year now and still loves it. Ms. Ericka is an outstanding instructor. She teaches self defense but also so much more. She really motivates the kids and offers a sense of community within her classes. Have to give a shout out to her staff as well! Mr. Max, Ms. Giselle, Mr. C.
We absolutely love California Defense Academy! My 4-year-old son attends classes here, and the positive impact has been incredible. The instructors are patient, encouraging, and truly care about each child’s growth and success.
I am so glad my grandchildren train here. They have been going since it opened and I am so glad we found this place. They not only learn how to defend themselves but also how to set boundaries and be mentally prepared. They are not only physically stronger but mentally as well.
Absolutely a 10/10!!!! Highly recommend!!!! Our 3 year old son has been in the program for about 2 months now and we have witnessed tremendous growth from when he first started.
Your first Krav Maga class at California Defense Academy
Nervous about walking into a Krav Maga school for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling a few core techniques with a partner — controlled and at your own pace, not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move in — there's no uniform or special gear you need to buy to get started. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — most schools have everything else you'll need for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call what to bring. Pressure-testing eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid — you won't be sparring hard on day one. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
