From the reviews

This place has helped me train and get prepared for going into the Texas State Trooper Academy. All the strikes and techniques has helped lay a foundation for being able to build upon some other techniques at the academy. I like that they teach good ground work defenses and will take the time to show you each move.

Nate is a great instructor and very knowledgeable in Krav Maga. It’s taught me to have a different awearness no matter where I am. We learn how to throw elbows, knee’s, hammer fists, punch’s, head butts, how to defend against punch’s, choke, headlocks, clinching, and kicks.

Your first Krav Maga class at East Texas Krav Maga

Nervous about walking into a Krav Maga school for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling a few core techniques with a partner — controlled and at your own pace, not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move in — there's no uniform or special gear you need to buy to get started. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — most schools have everything else you'll need for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call what to bring. Pressure-testing eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid — you won't be sparring hard on day one. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.

Krav Maga is a contact activity. Ease in, train at your own pace, listen to your instructors, and if you have any injuries or health concerns, mention them before class and check with a doctor if you're unsure.
