From the reviews

Update: I wrote my review prior to reading the other reviews. I have to say that I am shocked by the couple of negative reviews regarding FOCUS and NISRA. (And no-we are not getting a kickback for a favorable review-that is ridiculous.

We are extremely happy with being a part of “FOCUS”. Our both kids are students here. Our son was very shy as a little kid. We decided to introduce him to karate. He started training with Sensei Marianne O’Hara at age of 6. She is amazing with kids, and it’s great to see how much love and respect students have for her.

Focus Fitness is my absolute favorite place for a great workout! Whether it's personal training, small group training, group classes or virtual, every workout is fun and challenging no matter your fitness level.

Focus Fitness has been a game changer for me. After relocating to the area, I struggled for over a year with trying to find a gym that had the same community feel as the one I had to leave. Then I found Focus Fitness, and it didn’t take long to feel more at home than ever.

Your first Krav Maga class at Focus Martial Arts & Fitness

Nervous about walking into a Krav Maga school for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling a few core techniques with a partner — controlled and at your own pace, not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move in — there's no uniform or special gear you need to buy to get started. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — most schools have everything else you'll need for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call what to bring. Pressure-testing eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid — you won't be sparring hard on day one. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.

Krav Maga is a contact activity. Ease in, train at your own pace, listen to your instructors, and if you have any injuries or health concerns, mention them before class and check with a doctor if you're unsure.
