From the reviews
I am Hagen Harris, Dana Harris's daughter. I have been taking this class for about a year and a half and I really love it. You learn a lot of new things, and you get stronger as well as learning how to defend yourself. I have also met quite a few new people, and in class we are a very tight-knit community.
I have been attending Phx Krav Fit (Phoenix Krav Maga) for almost 3 years now. I have gained self-defense skills that will prepare me for the unexpected especially in my field (Realtor) as it is so important to be prepared for the unthinkable.
Matt and Stephanie do a great job of building community and making everyone feel welcome! I decided to try a class to challenge myself. I’ve never done sports or martial arts and as a 40 year old woman I felt intimidated at the idea of Krav. From the first class all my fears went away.
Great instructors staff is wonderful. Training with all ages and everyone is welcoming. You learn real situations and how to do some self-defense. Top notch experience instructors that really care. I highly recommend that if you want to learn self-defense and meet new people while getting some workout in.
Your first Krav Maga class at Phoenix Krav Maga and Fitness | PhxKravFit
Nervous about walking into a Krav Maga school for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling a few core techniques with a partner — controlled and at your own pace, not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move in — there's no uniform or special gear you need to buy to get started. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — most schools have everything else you'll need for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call what to bring. Pressure-testing eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid — you won't be sparring hard on day one. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
