From the reviews
I started attending Krav Maga in November. I’m very hesitant and shy and all the instructors have helped me greatly. They have gone slow and made sure I was understanding what they were teaching. I have had a lot of fun attending and can’t wait to learn more!
Erik and Chantelle give their students every chance to succeed, all while holding them to high expectations and standards. Discipline is expected, camaraderie is encouraged, and the purpose of the forms and drills is explained so as to put the exercises they are taught in perspective.
My daughters and I have been doing Krav Maga with UVMA for 2 years. The instructors are awesome, personable, and really care about their students’ success. I would highly recommend this business.
This is a fun and safe place to learn self defense, and tricks for stunts. Highly recommend!
Your first Krav Maga class at Utah Valley Martial Arts, LLC
Nervous about walking into a Krav Maga school for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling a few core techniques with a partner — controlled and at your own pace, not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move in — there's no uniform or special gear you need to buy to get started. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — most schools have everything else you'll need for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call what to bring. Pressure-testing eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid — you won't be sparring hard on day one. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
