From the reviews
It is with great apprehension that I am writing this review – I will explain why at the end. My first encounter with the Hockman Martial Arts facility located on Rangeline Road (their North Location) was right before I turned 71 years old, about a year and a half ago.
Master Hockman and each of his instructors go above and beyond for their students. My son absolutely loves going to his classes, and his self confidence, respect, and self-respect have improved tremendously since joining Hockman’s ATA. I can’t say enough for what they do. 5/5.
As the father of a timid 9-year-old girl, we gave ATA a chance not knowing if it would be something she would stick with. I am absolutely thrilled to see my daughter gain confidence through Master Hockman's program. In the past, when she struggled, she was prone to giving up.
I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking to improve their overall well-being. Master Hockman is the head instructor at the school and it is a joy to see him every week. He takes the time to answer your questions and is very knowledgeable about the art.
Your first Krav Maga class at Hockman's ATA Martial Arts
Nervous about walking into a Krav Maga school for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling a few core techniques with a partner — controlled and at your own pace, not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move in — there's no uniform or special gear you need to buy to get started. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — most schools have everything else you'll need for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call what to bring. Pressure-testing eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid — you won't be sparring hard on day one. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
