From the reviews

This gym has some intense classes! I was sore, but in a good way--woke up some muscles and I felt like I learned a lot in a short period of time. Tried out the Intro to Krav Maga class a couple of times using a free pass while I was visiting my friend in LA.

I usually don't write reviews, but several one-star ratings have prompted me to do so. Krav Maga Worldwide, founded by Darren Levine (one of only two people to be given the Krav Maga Founder’s Diploma by Imi Lichtenfeld himself), is the best place to train in Krav Maga in California. Period.

★★★★★ — Isaac, May 2015

All the instructors are first-class! They are completely invested in your success, and will continually challenge you, because they care enough to ensure that you are prepared to handle any situation on the street.

No words to describe how professional, charismatic and friendly everyone is from trainers to receptionists, if you come once, you will fall in love with krav maga in West LA, and will stay for good. I've been waiting for that training many years.

Your first Krav Maga class at Krav Maga Worldwide West L.A.

Nervous about walking into a Krav Maga school for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling a few core techniques with a partner — controlled and at your own pace, not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move in — there's no uniform or special gear you need to buy to get started. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — most schools have everything else you'll need for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call what to bring. Pressure-testing eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid — you won't be sparring hard on day one. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.

Krav Maga is a contact activity. Ease in, train at your own pace, listen to your instructors, and if you have any injuries or health concerns, mention them before class and check with a doctor if you're unsure.
