PNW Krav Maga has been an amazing part of my life since I started. One of the first benefits is that it is a great workout. I started out fairly out of shape and along with eating better, helped me get a lot healthier. Even now I am always still learning to push myself further.

★★★★★ — Kenzie, Sep 2019

It's really hard not to praise this place. I was only there for two months (because I was leaving the US) and my only regret was not discovering it sooner. Kudos to the absolutely outstanding and passionate teachers who truly give it their all to teach their students how to best defend themselves.

Your first Krav Maga class at Pacific Northwest Krav Maga & StrikeFit Kickboxing

Nervous about walking into a Krav Maga school for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling a few core techniques with a partner — controlled and at your own pace, not hard sparring. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: comfortable athletic clothes you can move in — there's no uniform or special gear you need to buy to get started. What to bring: water and a mouthguard if you have one — most schools have everything else you'll need for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call what to bring. Pressure-testing eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid — you won't be sparring hard on day one. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet the instructor. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.

Krav Maga is a contact activity. Ease in, train at your own pace, listen to your instructors, and if you have any injuries or health concerns, mention them before class and check with a doctor if you're unsure.
